| Here are some recordings of my custom
Stambaugh bass. The bass has Aero Pickups and a Bartolini
preamp. It has 5 knobs: volume, blend, treble, mid, bass (all cut
or boost with a center indent) and 3 switches: one switch taps the
pickups to single coil mode, one is a 3-way parametric mid range
control, and the third switch mutes the bass entirely. Finally,
the volume knob is a push / pull that defeats the preamp, making the
bass passive, when it is pulled up.
I am using Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Round strings, .43 -.89, and running
the bass straight into the board without any EQ or preamp. |
