Welcome to JonathanChase.net!

I am an adult with Asperger's Syndrome living in Portland, Oregon.  I have been a professional musician for over ten years but now most of my time is devoted to advocating for people on the Autism Spectrum.

I am the first person on the spectrum to serve on the Autism Society of Oregon's board of directors, and I also work with the Portland Autism Group.  I currently serve on the Oregon Commission on ASD committee regarding transition services, and I was featured in the film "On The Spectrum" by Jeff Grinta and ASO is also distributing a DVD of a forum I hosted aimed at parents with children on the spectrum.

I offer my services as a speaker, sharing my story of overcoming adversity in school through self advocacy.  I give ideas on problem solving, lowering daily stress in school, and getting outside the "bubble" to try new things and develop the skill necessary to thrive, not only in school but in adult life.

I am also an advocate and consultant.  I can bring the perspective of someone who has been there and understands, whether it's helping a teacher or school councilor better understand Autism or assisting in the planning and implementation of an IEP plan. For more information click on IEP Advocacy.

I am working with local musician Carley Baer and performing with her around the Portland Area.  Our next two performances are Friday March 26th at the Krakow Cafe (7:00 to 8:00 PM) and Saturday, March 27th at the Corkscrew (7:00 to 9:00 PM).
